The Los Angeles Lakers surprised some people by firing former head coach Mike Brown on Friday, but only because they chose to do it six games into the season. Most of us thought he would survive a bit longer, but very few believed he would last the entire year. If you ask Magic Johnson, Brown should have never been there in the first place.

Abigael Evans, the 4-year-old Colorado girl who burst into tears—and Americans' hearts—while listening to an NPR report about the seemingly endless 2012 presidential election, is glad the race is over--and that "Bronco Bama," as she calls the president, won.

Why are so many people making fun of Tim Tebow?
Nobody who watches football regularly seems to make fun of the guys who do a goofy little dance in the endzone or the fans or wear cheese hats on their heads or paint their faces and bodies in their team’s colors. Is it a big deal that the kid (I call him a kid because if I were in the NFL I would be at retirement age) kneels down and says a prayer in midfield? I guess I don’t see what the big deal is – it seems he’s expressing himself in a way that’s comfortable and familiar to him. Lindsey Vonn out of hospital
Lindsey Vonn was spending a second night in the hospital awaiting test results related to severe intestinal pain, her spokesman said Tuesday.
The reigning World Cup overall champion was admitted to a hospital in Vail, Colo., on Monday. Spokesman Lewis Kay said Tuesday night that Vonn was resting comfortably.
Vonn skipped a slalom in Finland last weekend to prepare for races in Aspen on Nov. 24-25.
Her only race this season was a giant slalom in Soelden, Austria, that she did not finish. Last year she won the Soelden race and went on to claim 11 more World Cup victories en route to winning the overall title, the fourth of her career.
