Bieber cheered, booed at Knicks game
Justin Bieber was getting some mixed signals during his stay in New York, feeling the love from fans lined up for the premiere of his new movie but getting booed loudly while taking in a New York Knicks game Wednesday night.
The 16-year-old was getting some R&R in the midst of promoting his upcoming flick "Never Say Never" by hitting Madison Square Garden to watch the New York Knicks take on the Dallas Mavericks
Sports fans reacted negatively to Biebs, though, when he was shown on the overhead scoreboard wearing large pink glasses, prompting loud boos to erupt from the crowd.
"Why would you boo the kid?" a commentator innocently asked.
"The boos are from the guys and the cheers are from the girls," another commentator joked.
While the star power was out in full force — Bieber was seen schmoozing with New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, comedian Chris Rock and director Spike Lee — the Knicks lost 113-97 to the Mavericks.
The Canadian pop star was in the Big Apple for the premiere of his 3-D movie that hits theaters February 11.
Throngs of "Beliebers" had lined up to greet the singer in Times Square for the film's debut earlier Wednesday night.
