Lindsey Vonn out of hospital

Lindsey Vonn was spending a second night in the hospital awaiting test results related to severe intestinal pain, her spokesman said Tuesday.
The reigning World Cup overall champion was admitted to a hospital in Vail, Colo., on Monday. Spokesman Lewis Kay said Tuesday night that Vonn was resting comfortably.
Vonn skipped a slalom in Finland last weekend to prepare for races in Aspen on Nov. 24-25.
Her only race this season was a giant slalom in Soelden, Austria, that she did not finish. Last year she won the Soelden race and went on to claim 11 more World Cup victories en route to winning the overall title, the fourth of her career.
The 28-year-old was born in Minnesota but has a home in Vail. After last season, she said she struggled with a knee injury.

Vonn's ski technician, Heinz Haemmerle, told The Associated Press that this isn't the first time the racer has gone to the hospital in Vail.
Haemmerle, who prepares Vonn's Head skis and has been on hand in Colorado awaiting her recovery, said that Vonn hasn't trained since going out in the second run of the giant slalom on Oct. 27 in Soelden.
"She told me she feels bad and has pain all over her body and that her bones are hurting. â?¦ She's been (to the hospital) two or three times. This is the first time she's stayed overnight," Haemmerle said in a telephone interview. "The coaches also don't know. First they told me we would train again Monday, then Wednesday, now the end of the week."
Vonn's request to compete against men in a World Cup downhill was recently rejected by the International Ski Federation (FIS). She had approached FIS in October with the request to ski against the men at Lake Louise, saying it was a one-time request.
She is the most decorated female skier in U.S. history, the only woman to have won the Olympic downhill gold and four World Cup overall titles. She has 53 World Cup victories and five world championship medals.
