A lockdown at a Lincoln Park elementary school has been lifted after a search for a suspect, who was allegedly waving a gun in the air, came up empty, according to police.
Knox Elementary School on South 49th Street was put on lockdown at about 10.40 a.m. Tuesday after a school employee reported a man pointing a gun in the air either on or near campus.
The witness said the suspect appeared to be drunk or disoriented.
A perimeter was set up in the area, but police could not find the suspect and lifted the lockdown just before 11.30 a.m.
