Mary Cleere Haran, Insouciant Star of Cabaret World dies yesterday on 5th February at a hospital in Deerfield Beach, FL. She was 58 years old.
Its really a sad news for her fans and also for music industry as she was a very talented singer.
She died in road biking accident near Deerfield Beach, Fla yesterday.She was seriously injured in that accident and her injuries eventually take her to death. She was a very famous cabaret performers in 1990s. She had been living in Florida for the last year. Often singing numbers from the American songbook, in a 2003 Playbill interview Haran cited Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, and Judy Garland as her influences. She embodied the spirit of jazz singing and carried on the tradition of Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee and Rosemary Clooney. Her voice really touched heart in Rodgers and Hart songs--"This Funny World"--and this jazz version of "For Now".
